Wirtz is only 22 years old and is already highly regarded as one of, if not the best, number 10s in the world.

His ability to pick a pass from out of nowhere and his keen eye for goal are just two things that make him an ideal candidate for Arne Slot’s Liverpool.

Much like Wirtz, Rayan Cherki is a highly sought-after player in the summer transfer window due to the ridiculously cheap release clause that’s in his contract.

The Frenchman has been Lyon’s best player this season, with Liverpool getting heavily linked with him as soon as it was made aware that he’d be available.

Even though Cherki’s release clause of £20million would save the Reds a small fortune, there’s no denying that Wirtz’s ceiling is much higher than the Frenchman’s, despite his “exceptional dribbling.”

Both have had similar goal returns this season, but Wirtz has seemed to put in similar sorts of numbers over the past few years, whereas this is Cherki’s first big season.
