We were joined by reporter Johannes Wolf to discuss Eintracht Frankfurt striker Hugo Ekitike ahead of the expected departure of Darwin Nunez.

According to Johannes, the belief within Frankfurt is that Ekitike will move this summer, with the club prepared to cash in if the right offer arrives.

“HE ONLY HAS ONE SETTING” – SCOTTISH FOOTBALL EXPERT ON LIVERPOOL LINKED JEREMIE FRIMPONG

“In Frankfurt, everyone believes he is going in the summer.

There’s a rule at the club- if a player is growing faster than the club, they are allowed to go.”

The club reportedly wants €84 million, which would make Ekitike the most expensive in the club’s history.

“He is 23 years old and the belief is he’s the most talented striker they’ve had- so they want the biggest fee they can get.”

Ekitike has had a standout season with 22 goals and 11 assists in 47 appearances, showing he can lead the line even without regular support.

“He showed he can produce without Omar Marmoush.

He is perhaps the only player on that side doing an attacking job – and doing it outstandingly.”

His sheer output and versatility set him apart, with Johannes stating, “he has the most shots in the league and the most shots on target, more than Harry Kane, which says a lot.”

“He is not afraid to shoot from a distance and can play as a lone striker or in a duo- we saw that when he partnered Marmoush, the best duo in the league.”

His price tag reflects both his current performance and his potential ceiling, with Johannes labelling him as “a high-class, all-around talent”.

Liverpool are reportedly preparing to send scouts to monitor Ekitike, with growing interest behind the scenes.

“If the right offer comes in, Frankfurt won’t deny it.

He will fit Liverpool, but he will take his time, especially after the move to Paris, where he burnt himself out as a teenager and then barely played.”

Despite his talent, there are still areas he needs to develop.

“He still needs to improve against the ball, especially at a club like Liverpool.

He is also a perfectionist, so frustration can build when things don’t work out, but that is something he will definitely grow out of.”

Frankfurt are also known for being tough negotiators.

“When City got Marmoush, they weren’t expecting to pay so much, so I wouldn’t be surprised if they eventually get €100 for Ekitike.”

With Liverpool expected to reshape their forward line, Hugo Ekitike represents a long-term striker option.

While not the finished product, his mix of youth, scoring instinct, and versatility could make him a valuable addition if the club is willing to meet Frankfurt’s demands and be patient with his development.
