The future of Darwin Nunez has remained a sticking point throughout Liverpool’s transfer window this summer.

Nunez has already hit the ground running in Liverpool’s pre-season, scoring a hat-trick against Stoke City and finding the net twice against Athletic Bilbao on Monday evening.

Earlier approaches from Napoli fizzled out amid differing valuations, while a lucrative proposal from Saudi Pro League giants Al-Hilal could still fall into Liverpool’s lap.

They may look for a loan with a buy obligation due to the finances of a potential deal.

However, it’s unclear if Milan would be able to pay the €65-70m valuation, with Al-Hilal in a much better position to meet the demands.
