Liverpool face a battle to secure the signing of one of their transfer targets this summer.
The Reds have strengthened the first team squad with some noticeable signings in this transfer window already.
Florian Wirtz broke the British transfer fee record when he joined the club from Bayer Leverkusen in their biggest deal in history.
And there are expected to be more incomings for the first team during the remainder of the transfer window.
But Liverpool are also looking to the future.
We exclusively revealed last month that Liverpool have made a move to sign young striker Will Wright from Salford City.
Since then, the 17-year-old has hit the headlines after scoring 4 times in 3 games for the club owned by Manchester United legends David Beckham and Gary Neville.
Wright has a number of clubs following him including the likes of Manchester City and Leicester City.
Liverpool were hoping to secure his signature before now but they have a battle to do so.
The striker has scored over 40 times for Salford City’s youth and reserve team sides?
He made his FA Cup debut as a 16-year-old against Manchester City.
Arsenal have a long standing in the young Salford star.
DaveOCKOP can now exclusively reveal that The Gunners have firmed up their interest in the last 72 hours and are close to agreeing a fee with Salford City.
Liverpool looked to have been in the driving seat for Will Wright but Arsenal have stolen a match on the Merseyside club.
Arsenal’s offer is believed to include a package where Salford could earn over £500,000.
It is possible that Arsenal could reach an agreement with Salford City in the coming days.
Liverpool would now need to move fast if they want to bring Will Wright to Anfield this summer.
