Chelsea have told Mason Mount he is free to find a new club, sources have told Football Insider. It is believed that talks between the London giants and the 24-year-old have now collapsed, with the club refusing to budge on their latest offer. Chelsea have offered Mount a new deal worth £180,000-a-week but he is keen to be paid the same as £250,000-a-week teammate Reece James.
With both parties unable to come to a deal the west Londoners have advised Mount he is free to explore an opportunity with another club ahead of the upcoming transfer window. That is a huge boost to the England star’s suitors, who include multiple Premier League clubs led by Liverpool and Man United.
Sources have told Football Insider that is also a big fan of Jurgen Klopp and would jump at the chance to work with him.
Mount has been at Chelsea for the entirety of his career so far, and has already made 192 appearances for them as well as 36 for the England team.
