The American billionaire owns a stake in Lyon, who also qualified for the Europa League, with Uefa’s rules prohibiting clubs controlled by the same owners or directors from competing in the same European competition.

Oliver Glasner’s side are currently set to play in the Conference League, while Nottingham Forest have been promoted into the Europa League.

Forest have been formally named as a respondent in Palace’s appeal to CAS alongside Uefa and Lyon, with the hearing set to take place on Friday (8 August) and a decision to be delivered on Monday (11 August).

Official Uefa documents have revealed what the participating clubs could earn in each European competition in the 2025-26 season.

Palace would bank a guaranteed £3.7million for featuring in the Europa League, while a Conference League spot is worth £2.8million.

Each league phase victory is worth £390,000 in the second-tier competition, meaning up to £3.1million is on offer if a team wins all eight of their games.

That figure drops to £2.1million in the Conference League as there are only six league phase matches and a win is worth £350,000.

A ranking bonus is in place for both competitions, with top spot in the Europa League table worth £2.3million and the equivalent in the Conference League banking the table-toppers £860,000.

There will also be an extra incentive to finish in the top-eight of the league phase as clubs are awarded £520,000 in the Europa League and £350,000 in the Conference League.

Meanwhile, qualification for the round of 16 in each competition is worth £1.5million and £690,000 in favour of the Europa League.

A run through the knock-out rounds to the final is worth a combined £11.9million in the second-tier competition, with the eventual winners bagging an extra £5.2million.

In the Conference League, reaching the final is worth £6.8million after making it through the previous rounds, while lifting the trophy guarantees a further £2.6million.

That means Palace could earn £28.2million in prize money in the Europa League, with a Conference League success worth £16.2million, marking a £12million difference between the two competitions.
