Chesterfield winger Armando Dobra is a target for a host of EFL clubs, including Derby and Portsmouth, Football Insider can exclusively reveal.

Oxford, Barnsley, Luton, Bolton, Blackpool, and Reading are also interested in a move for the player.

Dobra had been a standout performer for Chesterfield over the last two seasons and has started the new campaign in fine form, notching two goals for the Spireites.

Paul Cook’s men are reluctant to lose their prize asset, but are bracing themselves for interest before the close of the window.

The winger proved his class when he scored in Chesterfield’s 3-1 win over League Two rivals Bristol Rovers on 16 August.

Before excelling for Cook’s side, Dobra previously played for Ipswich and Colchester, where he spent one season before moving to Derbyshire.

The 24-year-old could now be on his way to the Championship or League One, having attracted interest from second-tier trio Derby, Portsmouth, and Oxford.

Football Insider verdict

Dobra proved himself as one of the best players in League Two last season by scoring 10 goals and producing two assists in 44 fourth-tier appearances.

The former Albania Under-21 international is on course to enjoy another successful campaign, having notched two goals in five league outings this term.

Dobra previously played for Ipswich in League One, while his exploits for Chesterfield prove that he is ready to return to the third tier once again.

Furthermore, interest from Championship sides like Portsmouth is a heavy endorsement of his ability, and he could even prove his class in the second tier.

The fact that Dobra scored when Chesterfield were beaten 4-1 by Gillingham on Tuesday, 19 August, shows that he can perform even when Cook’s side are having a poor game.

That trait makes him an attractive asset for sides who are further up the football pyramid and boast loftier ambitions than Chesterfield.
