Hearts are considering a move to sign Everton goalkeeper Harry Tyrer late in the transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
The 23-year-old is well down the pecking order under David Moyes, and they are willing to let him move on as he is in the final year of his contract.
Tyrer spent last season on loan at League One outfit Blackpool, where he made 42 appearances and kept 13 clean sheets across all competitions.
Steve Bruce’s side had been keen to sign the shot-stopper on a permanent deal following his loan spell, but were unable to reach an agreement.
He could now become the latest goalkeeper to leave the Toffees this summer, following Asmir Begovic and Joao Virginia, while Mark Travers has been brought in.
Derek McInnes wants to strengthen his goalkeeping options.

Tyrer is believed to be keen to play more regular football than he would be afforded at Everton, having not made a single appearance during his time on Merseyside.
Following loan spells at Chester FC, Chesterfield and most recently Blackpool, there is a feeling he is now ready to take the step up with a permanent switch.

Despite opting to extend 42-year-old Craig Gordon‘s stay at Tynecastle for another season, plans are now being put in place to land a long-term replacement.
Gordon made 46 appearances across all competitions last season, but missed the final three games with a nerve issue, while Zander Clark and Ryan Fulton have also had issues.
Hearts see Tyrer as a potential option to step into their first-team plans.

Tyrer is not the only player who could be leaving Everton in the final weeks of the transfer window, as speculation continues to surround Beto.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on Thursday that Everton expect Beto to find a new club, following a behind-the-scenes falling out with David Moyes.
Sources have told Football Insider that Moyes has been unimpressed by Beto’s attitude during pre-season and is unhappy that the player has not “conformed” to his methods.
Following that, Football Insider revealed on 15 August that Leeds are preparing a formal bid for Beto, having been long-term admirers of the striker.
