Everton are plotting a move for Norwich right-back Kellen Fisher, sources have told Football Insider.

The 21-year-old made 41 appearances for the Canaries last season, assisting four times, and is now on the radar of a Toffees side in the midst of a full-scale overhaul under David Moyes.

Fisher is capable of playing at left-back and in the centre of midfield, but is most comfortable at right-back.

The young defender has been capped three times for England’s Under-20 side and came off the bench in the closing stages of Norwich’s opening day 2-1 loss to Millwall on Saturday, 9 August.

Seamus Coleman signed a one-year contract extension with Everton this summer, making the 2025/26 season his 17th with the Toffees.

However, with natural centre-back Jake O’Brien as the only other player capable of playing at right-back, signing a back-up for the long-standing Irishman is much needed.

Moyes has made clear that Everton desperately need more reinforcements this summer.

Everton have recruited in response this summer, signing the likes of Thierno Barry and Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall.

However, the Toffees have made just one defensive purchase, bringing in Adam Aznou from Bayern Munich.

Fisher’s ability to play in multiple positions would allow him to be a useful tool for Moyes, as well as giving the young English defender several routes into the starting XI.

Liam Manning took charge at Carrow Road this summer after guiding Bristol City to a surprise spot in the playoffs.

And whilst his side fell at the hurdle, losing 6-0 on aggregate to Sheffield United, the young manager’s stock remained high.

The Norwich-born manager has received plenty of backing in the summer window with the Canaries shelling out on the likes of Mathias Kvistgaarden and Papa Amadou Diallo.

But the loss of Fisher will come as a major blow for Manning.

Fisher is a strong defender, which is something the former Robins boss favours, and the 39-year-old may push for his side to find a replacement before the end of the window.
