Everton striker Francis Okoronkwo has agreed to join Lincoln City, sources have told Football Insider.

Okoronkwo, 20, was in attendance for Lincoln’s win over Plymouth at the LNER Stadium on Saturday.

He will now head to the League One outfit to put the finishing touches to a season-long loan move.

The Imps finished 11th in the third tier last term and sit in the same position again this term having won two of their three opening fixtures.

They’ll be hoping to battle for a play-off spot this term.

Okoronkwo will be hoping to continue his development with a loan switch to League One.

The Blyth-born starlet started his career with Sunderland before joining Everton and excelling as part of the Toffees’ youth set-up.

Last term he went to Salford City on loan where he scored four goals in 24 games in League Two.

His first taste of senior football, the 20-year-old will be keen to make a real splash with Lincoln as he aims to get a full season of match action under his belt.

A loan move to Lincoln seems like the perfect chance for Okoronkwo to shine, particularly given the uncertainty in his position on Merseyside.

Beto is expected to leave Everton for a new club at the end of the transfer window after falling out with Moyes, Sources told Football Insider.

Sources have told Football Insider that Moyes has been unimpressed by Beto’s attitude during pre-season and is unhappy that the player has not “conformed” to his methods.

Despite signing Thierno Barry, the Toffees are already looking for a new striker to replace Beto before the transfer window closes.
