Liverpool have informed Federico Chiesa that he is unlikely to get regular game time in the coming season, Rousing The Kop understands.
Chiesa arrived as Arne Slot’s only signing ahead of the 2024/25 campaign, but made just six appearances as Liverpool won the Premier League.
And although Liverpool are on the verge of selling Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich, Chiesa is understood to be in line to play a similar part should he remain at Anfield.
The Italian has no intention of accepting such a limited role for a second successive season and is in search of more regular game time ahead of next summer’s World Cup.
RTK understands that a handful of clubs in Italy are in a position to give Chiesa the minutes he is seeking and are eyeing a permanent summer transfer as a result.
But although the 27-year-old has interest from the likes of Como and former club Fiorentina, he is currently understood to be prioritising a return to a team operating more towards the top of the table.

Although Chiesa’s time at Juventus ended under a cloud in 2024, the Bianconeri are understood to hold an interest in their former player returning.
Thiago Motta froze Chiesa out after his arrival from Bologna, but with Igor Tudor having since replaced Motta as manager, the door is not completely closed on the winger returning.

But while several clubs remain in the running, RTK have been told that it is Atalanta who are the current favourites to land Chiesa this summer.
The Bergamo-based side are seen as the front-runners as things stand, although Chiesa is understood to be waiting to see how things play out at Juventus and Milan before making his decision.
As well as Diaz and Chiesa, Liverpool are likely to see Darwin Nunez sold this summer.
Saudi Pro League side Al Ahli are understood to be the favourites to sign the Uruguayan.
And while Liverpool remain confident of buying Alexander Isak to offset the sales, RTK understands the Reds are still keen to add one further attacker to their squad.
Interest remains in Real Madrid’s Rodrygo Goes, and Liverpool are aware of the parameters needed to strike a deal for the Brazilian.
However, Rodrygo is not the only option at Anfield, and with Chiesa’s exit fully expected, they are exploring the left wing market.
