By now, most Liverpool fans are aware that the club holds some form of interest in Jeremie Frimpong.

The news comes following Trent Alexander-Arnold’s confirmation that his 20-year association with the club will end this summer.

One of the main reasons the Liverpool leadership is keen on the Bayer Leverkusen star is his release clause.

They are attracted to the fact that the €35 million (£30 million) release clause for Jeremie Frimpong is significantly lower than his perceived market value.

Furthermore, we can exclusively reveal that the release clause is split into four installments, with the first payment being a comparative bargain when considering the quality of the player.

This flexibility allows the club to allocate resources elsewhere, particularly with a center-back and forward also on their summer wishlist

Frimpong’s attacking prowess as a wing-back in Xabi Alonso’s 3-4-3 system at Bayer Leverkusen has made him one of Europe’s most productive full-backs over the past two seasons.

In the previous 2023/24 campaign, Jeremie Frimpong recorded an outstanding 14 goals and 12 assists in 47 appearances, helping Bayer Leverkusen secure the Bundesliga title, the DFB Pokal, and reach the Europa League final.

His numbers have dropped this season as Leverkusen endured a more ‘normal campaign’, with the 24-year-old managing four goals and 12 assists in the same amount of games.

With the attacking focus he has under Xabi Alonso, the Anfield hierarchy considering is how well Frimpong would fit into Liverpool’s system – and if they indeed want his profile at right-back.

Jeremie Frimpong has thrived playing as a wing-back in a three-at-the-back formation at Leverkusen, Liverpool have yet to decide if he is definitely the type of profile they will sign.

There are no doubts over Frimpong’s attacking credentials.
