As hard as it is to believe, Trent Alexander-Arnold played his final game in the red of Liverpool on Sunday as Arne Slot’s side laboured to a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.

The England international was subbed on at halftime to a warmer Anfield crowd compared to Arsenal a few weeks ago.

In an emotional post-match interview, he reflected: “I’ve played hundreds of games here, but I’ve never felt so loved.

From the bottom of my heart, I hope fans recognize everything I gave for this club.”

The 26-year-old also took part in Monday’s parade, engaging in the festivities as he enjoyed his final moments with the Liverpool squad.

“Perfect send off?

Thank you from the bottom of my heart, I love my city,” Alexander-Arnold wrote on social media, accompanying photos of him embracing the trophy amid a sea of red confetti.

Alexander-Arnold made 353 appearances enroute to two Premier League titles, a Champions League trophy, an FA Cup, and numerous other pieces of silverware.

Plenty has been reported on Real Madrid wanting to broker a deal with Liverpool to release Trent Alexander-Arnold in time for the Club World Cup this summer – with the tournament kicking off for Los Blancos on June 18 against Al Hilal.

This comes nearly two weeks before his Liverpool contract officially ends on July 1.

DaveOCKOP can now exclusively reveal that Real Madrid have reached an agreement with the Anfield club to release Alexander-Arnold in time for their Club World Cup campaign.

The Spanish giants will pay £10m to Liverpool to get the 26-year-old early and integrate him into their Club World Cup squad.

He will join up with Real Madrid after international duty with England.

The Three Lions face Andorra (World Cup qualifier) and Senegal (Friendly) on June 7th and 10th respectively.

And with figures of close to £100m being reported for the winners of the expanded competition, it’s no wonder the record European champions are so keen to get their hands on Alexander-Arnold before then.

FIFA has introduced a special transfer window from June 1 to June 10, 2025, allowing clubs participating in the Club World Cup to register new signings specifically for the tournament.

Alexander-Arnold will be registered in this window with his contract at the Santiago Bernabeu running until 2031.

For Reds fans, it will be a good opportunity to now move on and look forward to some of the exciting signings that will be arriving in Merseyside this summer.
