Jack Wilshere is in the running to make a return to Arsenal as part of the club’s youth set-up, sources have told Football Insider.
Sources say the 33-year-old is one of a number of candidates for the position and the deal for his potential return is not sealed as things stand.
Wilshere left his position as Arsenal’s Under-18s head coach to join Norwich City as a first-team coach under Johannes Hoff Thorup in October 2024.
The former Gunners midfielder is believed to have aspirations of becoming a senior manager in the near future following his interim spell in charge of Norwich City.
Football Insider exclusively revealed in June that Wilshere interviewed for the Plymouth Argyle manager position before they appointed Tom Cleverley.
However, he is now weighing up a potential return to the Emirates, where he remains highly rated after leading the Under-18s to FA Youth Cup final in 2023.

Following his interim spell in charge of Norwich, the Canaries opted to appoint Liam Manning as the permanent boss despite suggestions Wilshere could step up.
In his limited coaching and managerial experience, the former England midfielder has already garnered an impressive reputation within the game.
Arsenal, meanwhile, have placed additional focus on youth development in recent years which has seen the likes of Ethan Nwaneri and Myles Lewis-Skelly become first-team regulars.
Before them, the breakthrough talents of Bukayo Saka and Emile Smith Rowe had highlighted the focus put on youth development at the Emirates.
Now, the Gunners are keen to improve their coaching team at academy level and are exploring the possibility of a return for Wilshere, who himself came through the setup.

Another of Arsenal’s academy products who has come into the team in recent years, Reiss Nelson, is growing increasingly likely to leave the club this summer.
Former Man United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 4 August that Nelson is closing in on joining Fulham following a mixed loan spell last season.
Arsenal are keen to sell the 25-year-old to raise funds this summer, but another loan move including an option or obligation to buy is more likely as things stand.
Football Insider revealed in June 2024 that Arsenal were planning to sell Nelson permanently before he agreed to join Fulham on loan for the season.
