Liverpool supporters have scarcely had time to breath this summer transfer window.

The £69 million-plus-add-ons capture of Hugo Ekitike from Eintracht Frankfurt was confirmed on Tuesday evening, with the French under-21 international immediately jetting off to join pre-season in Hong Kong.

The Reds have now landed in Japan.

Before the ink was dry, widespread reports emerged that star Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak informed his club he wishes to explore a move, with the Anfield club on it behind the scenes as a top contender.

It’s shaping to be one of the best Liverpool windows in living memory, and it’s far from being over just yet.

Indeed, while the club has been all over the headlines for the biggest deals of the summer, they are not neglecting their academy strategy.

DaveOCKOP.com can exclusively reveal that Liverpool have had a bid accepted for highly-rated Salford City striker Will Wright.

We had previously exclusively reported that Arsenal were set to make the signing, but the situation has now shifted.

The Gunners had agreed a fee in the region of £400,000 (including add-ons) with Gary Neville’s side and have been in discussions with the player over personal terms.

However, the Reds have always been quietly working in the background.

Both clubs are now attempting to agree personal terms with Wright.

They have been buoyed by Liverpool’s reputation for nurturing young talent into first team candidates, with the likes of Rio Ngumoha and Trey Nyoni showcasing that there is a pathway into Arne Slot’s senior squad.

A number of clubs interested in Wright

Arsenal are not the only Premier League heavyweight to have attempted to sway Wright.

Manchester City, too, have registered their interest in securing the teenager’s signature, although no formal bid materialized from the Etihad Club.

A number of other top-flight outfits are understood to have made enquiries over the past week, keen to capture one of the country’s most prolific youth scorers.

Will Wright is a product of the renowned Academy 92 – the youth development program at Salford City, inspired by the famous “Class of 92” at Manchester United.

Standing at 1.90m at just 17, Wright operates as a commanding centre-forward, blending physical presence with sharp instincts in front of goal and a relentless work rate when pressing opponents.

Despite his young age, Wright has already accumulated four senior appearances for Salford City?

His breakthrough came with a senior debut against Manchester City in the FA Cup in January.

This summer, Wright’s stock has continued to rise thanks to an eye-catching pre-season.
