Liverpool will be able to sign Crystal Palace centre-back Marc Guehi in January for a fee of around £25million, sources have told Football Insider.
On Monday (1 September), Guehi’s £35m move to Anfield was all but confirmed, with the 25-year-old even completing a deadline day medical ahead of the switch.
However, the transfer collapsed at the last moment, as Palace were unable to find a replacement for their captain and subsequently blocked the deal from going through.
Sources say that Guehi will now be available for at least £10m less than his original asking price in the new year, when the transfer window reopens.

Football Insider has revealed that Liverpool will reignite their Guehi interest in January, in order to stave off interest from other clubs.
Arne Slot’s side could wait until next summer to pick the Palace captain up on a free transfer, but would run the risk of being pipped to the post.
When the window opens again at the start of next year, the England international will be able to agree a pre-contract deal with foreign clubs.

There could also be other Premier League sides joining the race for Guehi’s signature, so Liverpool will move quickly to ensure they don’t miss out on him.

Meanwhile, Liverpool will hold fresh talks over a new contract for Konate now the transfer deadline has passed, sources have told Football Insider.
Real Madrid are believed to be keeping close tabs on the centre-back with a view to landing him for free when his deal expires next summer.
This comes after Football Insider revealed on 31 August that Liverpool are not concerned about Konate’s future despite his poor start to the season.
The Reds remain determined to tie him down to new terms and keep him at the club beyond the end of the 2025/26 campaign.
