Although Newcastle remain in a strong position to keep the 25-year-old, RTK have been told suggestions that Isak staying on Tyneside is a formality are wide of the mark.
Newcastle qualified for the Champions League on the final day of the Premier League season, leading to assumptions Isak would be certain to remain at St James’ Park.
However, it is understood that contract talks with the Sweden striker will play a greater role in whether he stays or decides to look for a new challenge in the transfer window.
