Manchester City want to keep Ederson at the club beyond the end of the transfer window, sources have told Football Insider.
The Brazil international’s future at the Etihad came into question after City confirmed the signing of James Trafford from Burnley.
Ederson has been linked with a move to Turkish giants Galatasaray, as well as a potential switch to the Saudi Pro League.
Sources say that Pep Guardiola’s side are not looking to offload the shot-stopper this summer, and will instead start the new season with the Brazilian and Trafford in their squad.

Many believed that Trafford’s return to Man City would spell the end for Ederson, as he would not settle for being number two at this point in his career.
However, sources say that the 31-year-old is likely to remain Guardiola’s first-choice keeper when fit, at least at the start of the campaign.
Trafford had a record-breaking season in the Championship for Burnley last season, keeping 29 league clean sheets.

It seems as if he will have to wait for his chance between the sticks at City though, and will be battling with Ederson to earn his place in the starting lineup.

Meanwhile, Man City have been joined by a number of Saudi Pro League and Brazilian clubs in their pursuit of West Ham star Lucas Paqueta.
Clubs in the Middle East are currently believed to be ahead of City in the race to sign the attacking midfielder and are now lining up offers.
This comes after former West Ham scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that City are unlikely to sign Paqueta, having already brought in alternative options.
The arrivals of Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki mean City are well-stocked and have no plans to make further additions there despite the Brazilian’s availability.
