Manchester City are likely to let goalkeeper Stefan Ortega leave this summer, sources have told Football Insider.

Following James Trafford’s move to Man City from Burnley, the German shot-stopper has fallen down the pecking order at the Etihad.

Sources say that Pep Guardiola’s side are willing to consider offers for Ortega, and will sell him if the right bid comes in.

A number of clubs in Germany are monitoring the situation and could make an approach for the 32-year-old in the latter stages of the window.

Ortega may leave Man City

When Trafford was announced by Man City, there was a feeling that it would spell the end of Ederson’s time at the Etihad.

Many believed that the 31-year-old would not settle for being a second-choice keeper at this stage in his career.

However, Football Insider exclusively revealed that Ederson is now set to stay at City beyond the summer window, despite interest from Galatasaray.

Meanwhile, Man City have been joined by a number of Saudi Pro League and Brazilian clubs in their pursuit of West Ham star Lucas Paqueta, sources have told Football Insider.

Clubs in the Middle East are currently believed to be ahead of City in the race to sign the attacking midfielder and are now lining up offers.

This comes after former West Ham scout Mick Brown told Football Insider that City are unlikely to sign Paqueta, having already brought in alternative options.

The arrivals of Tijjani Reijnders and Rayan Cherki mean City are well-stocked and have no plans to make further additions there despite the Brazilian’s availability.
