Fenerbahce have opened negotiations to bring in John Victor after his move to West Ham broke down, sources have told Football Insider.
The Turkish outfit have now taken advantage of the change of mind of the Hammers to sign the Brazilian shot stopper.
Football Insider revealed that West Ham were confident of signing Victor after an improved bid to Botafogo.
However, the keeper was left in limbo after West Ham pulled out of an agreed deal with Victor at the last minute in a reported “disgraceful” manner.
The Irons opted to bring in Leicester City‘s Mads Hermansen instead of the six-foot-six brick wall, opening up an opportunity for Jose Mourinho and Fenerbahce to swoop in for the 29-year-old.

All of the Hammers, Aston Villa and Man United have been interested in Victor throughout the window yet it looks like “the special one” will work his magic to land the South American.
A towering presence in net with an outrageous reach, Botafogo’s number one has had experience playing in both Brazil and Spain with Real Valladolid.

Football Insider revealed that West Ham are not considering sacking Graham Potter despite a difficult start to life in east London.
This comes after the Irons suffered a hammering 5-1 defeat to visiting Chelsea as the former Brighton boss’ side crumbled in front of their home fans.

Sources told Football Insider that the Hammers board are backing Potter to turn the club’s fortunes around, even after conceding eight goals in the first two matches in the Premier League season.
Further heavy defeats could quickly change that perspective from upstairs at the London Stadium as a relegation battle looks to be on for the claret and blue.
