The 23-year-old Germany forward is said to be en route to Tyneside after the Magpies struck a deal with Bundesliga side Stuttgart.
Woltemade, who has also drawn interest from Bayern Munich this summer, is expected to undergo a medical before finalising his move to St James’ Park.
Isak was a notable absentee on Monday night as Liverpool snatched a dramatic 3-2 victory over Newcastle at St James’ Park.
The Magpies pushed hard but were undone by a stoppage-time winner from youngster Rio Ngumoha.
Liverpool had a £110m bid for Isak rejected earlier this month.
In a statement released on social media last week, Isak accused Newcastle of breaking a promise to allow him to leave this summer.
The Magpies strongly denied making such a commitment and remain adamant that the forward is not for sale.
Isak is expected to miss Newcastle’s clash with Leeds United on Saturday, having refused to feature against both Aston Villa and Liverpool in recent weeks.
The Magpies have endured a frustrating search for attacking reinforcements this summer, missing out on Hugo Ekitike, Benjamin Sesko, and Joao Pedro.
But with Woltemade now close to arriving, Newcastle’s stance on Isak could be set to soften.
DaveOCKOP.com can exclusively reveal that Newcastle have been fully aware of Liverpool’s intention to bid again as far back as the day of the first offer.
We revealed the news of Liverpool’s second offer the day the first offer became public.
Isak has played his part in the potential move since.
Liverpool set to return with second bid
Liverpool are now expected to follow up with a record bid for Alexander Isak.
The bid will not be news to Newcastle, despite reports that Liverpool would not bid again.
Liverpool are willing to spend as much as £80M up front as part of a £130M+ deal?
Eddie Howe is open to Isak’s departure.
The Reds initially hoped to pay £60M up front
DaveOCKOP exclusively revealed earlier this month that the Newcastle manager was open to Isak leaving the club.
