Nottingham Forest have joined Everton in the hunt for highly-rated Norwich defender Kellen Fisher, sources have told Football Insider.
The Reds have made an enquiry for the England under-20 international, who has made 58 senior appearances for the Canaries since graduating from the academy.
Last season, the 21-year-old won Norwich’s Etty Smith Young Player of the Season award, notching four assists in 38 Championship appearances in what was a breakout season for the talented full-back.
Football Insider revealed earlier this month that Everton are planning a move for Fisher, though David Moyes‘ side now face competition from the Tricky Trees ahead of the 1 September deadline.
Ola Aina and Neco Williams have both put pen to paper on new deals at the City Ground, but that has not made up for the lack of reinforcements in the full-back positions.
The duo started the majority of Forest’s Premier League matches last season, but with Aina off to the African Cup of Nations in December and the squad also in Europe, new full-backs are vital.

Supporters are extremely excited by the moves for Igor Jesus, Dan Ndoye, Omari Hutchinson, James McAtee, and Arnaud Kalimuendo, with the money from Anthony Elanga‘s sale being spent well.
Ola Aina is unlikely to be available over the winter period.
However, Forest would be smart to go for Fisher, who has three caps for England Under-20s and is on the verge of breaking through to the next age group alongside City Ground star Elliot Anderson.
The Toffees also would benefit from full-back signings following Adam Aznou, with Seamus Coleman and Nathan Patterson unreliable when it comes to staying fit for an entire season.
Fisher, while he has no experience in the top flight of English football, adapted well to the Championship after arriving from Bromley in July 2023, and has thrived at Carrow Road since.

With Liam Manning now in charge of the Canaries, the gem’s playing time could change after the team resorted to a back-five against Portsmouth, leaving Fisher on the bench until the 65th minute.
An increasingly-heated transfer battle looks like heating up ahead of the transfer deadline as the Premier League duo vie to land the up-and-coming full-back talent.
