Paul Robinson has claimed Mo Salah’s prospective absence next season is a “massive blow” to Liverpool.

Robinson claimed Salah’s absence will be “on a different level” to other African players given his importance to Jurgen Klopp’s side.

“It is a massive blow because he is the only one that is scoring goals this season,” he told Football Insider‘s Dylan Childs.

“There is always this situation with the African Cup of Nations.

“But, when you are talking about a player of Salah’s quality, given his importance to Liverpool, his absence would be on a different level.” In other news, senior Liverpool forward tipped to quit this summer amid woeful reveal.

According to The Athletic‘s James Pearce, Egypt want Salah to be one of their three overage players at this summer’s Tokyo Olympics and his involvement would see him miss almost the entirety of Liverpool’s pre-season.

Speaking exclusively to Football Insider, the former Spurs and England number one said the 28-year-old’s involvement in international tournaments is a “worry” given that he is the “only one scoring goals this season”.
