Russell Martin’s Rangers future hinges on results before the international break, sources have told Football Insider.
Martin is under intense pressure at Ibrox, following a horrific start to the season, which sees the Gers sitting 11th in the Scottish Premiership.
The Glasgow giants have four games before the international break in two weeks time, facing Genk and Sturm Graz in the Europa League, as well as Livingston and Falkirk in the Scottish Premiership.
Sources say that these next four games are key for Martin’s future, and he could be dismissed if the negative results continue.

Rangers did manage to pick up their first win in five games over the weekend, as they beat Hibernian 2-0 in the League Cup.
While it has done little to quell the talk around Martin’s future, it may at least provide a springboard for the Gers to finally build up some momentum.
Just five games into the season, Rangers sit nine points behind both Celtic and Hearts in the Scottish Premiership.

They cannot afford to let that gap widen any further over the next fortnight, and must ensure they get their Europa League campaign off to a successful start as well.
Meanwhile, the Rangers hierarchy have already begun assessing alternatives to Martin in case they do need to sack him, sources have told Football Insider.

Sources say there are a number of candidates keen on the position, while options considered prior to the former Southampton boss’s arrival are still firmly on the club’s radar.
Sean Dyche has been tipped to take over at Rangers if Martin is dismissed, while the likes of Davide Ancelotti and Steven Gerrard are also linked with the role.
All three bosses were considered during their search for a permanent boss just four months ago, before they ultimately decided Martin was the man for the job.
