Sheffield Wednesday are in talks with Man City over a potential deal to sign Jaden Heskey, sources have told Football Insider.
The 19-year-old is believed to be open to spending the season on loan as he makes the step up into senior football, having only previously been involved at youth level.
Heskey provided three goals and six assists across 32 appearances for Man City‘s Under-21s last season, heightening interest in his signature.
The attacking midfielder, son of former England and Liverpool striker Emile Heskey, has yet to make his senior debut for City but is highly rated by Pep Guardiola.
As a result, the boss is keen for him to gain experience in the EFL with a long-term view to making his mark on the first-team squad at the Etihad.

Football Insider exclusively revealed in December that Heskey is wanted by Premier League clubs as well as European giants and is hotly tipped as one for the future.
As a result, Wednesday are prepared to take a gamble on offering him his first venture into senior football as they aim to strengthen their depleted squad.

Due to the ongoing board crisis at Hillsborough, the Owls have lost a number of key players with eight players departing the club on free transfers.
Among the big-name departures was Josh Windass, whose exit has left a space in the attacking midfield role where Heskey would slot into the side.
The club are now aiming to make use of the free agent and loan markets in the closing hours of the transfer window in a last-ditch attempt to strengthen the squad.

City could be set for a busy deadline day with both outgoing and incoming deals on their radar in the final hours of the summer transfer window.
Real Madrid star Rodrygo had been a key target, but Football Insider revealed on 31 August that Man City are highly unlikely to sign Rodrygo as things stand.
The deal would only be possible if Savinho completed a move away first amid links with Tottenham, but Guardiola is not interested in losing the Brazil star.
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on 29 August that Rodrygo is happy at Real Madrid and has no intention of leaving before the 1 September deadline.
