West Ham have been offered the opportunity to sign Man United goalkeeper Andre Onana on loan, sources have told Football Insider.
The Hammers have been told they can sign the 29-year-old if Ruben Amorim‘s side are able to land a new keeper signing before Monday’s transfer deadline.
Onana has been widely expected to leave Old Trafford this summer with the boss having grown frustrated about a string of inconsistent performances from his goalkeeper.
Former United chief scout Mick Brown told Football Insider on 21 August that Man United plan to sell Onana before 1 September as they look to upgrade on him.
West Ham, meanwhile, have endured a dismal start to the season and are aiming to be active in backing Graham Potter in the closing stages of the transfer window.
Despite having signed Mads Hermansen from Leicester earlier this month, the Hammers are interested in further bolstering their goalkeeping ranks.

Brown told Football Insider on 26 August that Man United are closing in on signing Senne Lammens from Royal Antwerp after stepping up their pursuit.

Amorim is said to be “raging” at the displays of his current options already this season and has been pushing to bring in a more reliable goalkeeper.
The arrival of the Belgium-born shot-stopper should then allow Onana to move on, with the club keen to part ways and exploring their options to find a suitor.
Football Insider revealed on 25 August that Man United will sell a goalkeeper before the deadline after completing the signing of Lammens.
West Ham have emerged as key contenders after contact was made between the two clubs, but it is unclear whether they will pursue the opportunity.
Onana is not the only star player being linked with a move away from Old Trafford, as speculation continunes to surround Rasmus Hojlund’s place in the squad.
Brown told Football Insider on 28 August that Hojlund is planning to leave Man United after Amorim made clear he is not part of his long-term plans.

The striker plans to return to Serie A in an attempt to reignite his career where he broke through with Atalanta, rather than considering Premier League offers.
Fulham have been linked with signing Hojlund, while a return to Italy with the likes of AC Milan or Napoli remains a strong possibility at this stage.
