However, even though the Gunners put up a fairly decent fight throughout the campaign, in the end, it’s Liverpool who emerged victorious.
In recent weeks, after Liverpool secured the Premier League title, Arteta has spoken in his press conferences about the “red cards and injuries” that have hindered his side’s title chances this term.
Since then, however, Slot has hit back at these claims, saying in a new interview with BBC Sport that excuses are for “teams that don’t win the league.”

The Liverpool manager added: “All these excuses you could give to Liverpool… with us maybe not spending… or not bringing new players in, or taking over from someone.
“All these things are excuses for teams that don’t win the league, and it’s nice that if you have all these excuses, that you don’t have to use them, but you still just won it.”

This season, it’s been obvious that Liverpool are the best team in the league with massive victories over many teams, such as Tottenham.
However, if they want to cement their place in Premier League history, they’ll need to come back with the same sort of passion next term.
While Liverpool’s main focus may well be the Champions League after they bowed out in the round of 16 this time around, a lot of effort should also be put towards retaining the title.
