Leeds United have identified Nottingham Forest winger Jota Silva among their options to strengthen out wide in the closing stages of the window.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the 26-year-old would be open to a move to Elland Road this summer.
This comes as Forest have spent around £127million on Omari Hutchinson, Dan Ndoye, Arnaud Kalimuendo and James McAtee, all of whom can play out wide.
As a result, Silva is believed to be considering his long-term future at the City Ground, but would welcome the chance to remain in the Premier League.
Meanwhile, Football Insider revealed on 24 August that Leeds want to sign a new winger alongside four additions to Daniel Farke’s squad this summer.
After missing out on signing Brazilian winger Igor Paixao, who instead moved to Marseille, Farke’s side have been assessing a number of alternative options.

Leeds’ signing of Noah Okafor has added to the strength of their squad up front and out wide, but they remain keen on new attacking reinforcements before the window closes.

Brown, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has now insisted Silva is on the Whites’ radar as a move from Forest remains on the cards.
“I hear Leeds are interested in signing Jota Silva,” he told Football Insider.
“They need new wingers, and he is one of the names on their list of targets.
“When he’s been involved for Forest, he looks busy and bright, always looking to make things happen and not afraid to get on the ball.
“He likes to get at people and he’s capable of producing in the final third as well.

“He’s a bit of a maverick, and those types of players are always welcome at Leeds.
“Forest have signed a number of wide players, and spent a significant amount of money on him, so I hear he is questioning where he fits in.
“He’s been pushed down the pecking order there, so perhaps he could look to move on.
“If Leeds come in for him, with the opportunity to stay in the Premier League and play more regular football, I expect it’s something he’ll be interested in.”
Silva is not the only winger on Leeds’ radar in the closing stages of the transfer window, as they remain long-term admirers of Tottenham’s Manor Solomon.
Brown told Football Insider on 19 August that Solomon is “certain” to leave Tottenham with Leeds keen to bring him back to Elland Road despite rival interest.

The Israel international enjoyed a successful loan spell under Farke’s management last season, and talk all summer has been about whether he could make a return.
Meanwhile, former Spurs and Leeds goalkeeper Paul Robinson told Football Insider that Leeds could push to sign Solomon with the door left open for his departure.
