Paris Saint-Germain star Goncalo Ramos is open to a move to Newcastle United this summer as he joins the list of potential replacements for Alexander Isak.
That is according to former Man United and Sunderland chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that scouts have been tracking the 24-year-old’s displays for PSG.
This comes as the Magpies continue to assess alternatives to Isak, having already missed out on top targets Joao Pedro, Hugo Ekitike and Benjamin Sesko this summer.
Football Insider revealed on 11 August that Newcastle will let Isak join Liverpool once they have brought in his replacement, with the search ongoing.
Ramos made 46 appearances across all competitions for PSG last season, but just 18 of those came from the start, and he is open to to chance to play more regular football.
Meanwhile, Eddie Howe‘s side are preparing to return to the Champions League and view Ramos as having the experience they want for the competition.

Brown told Football Insider on 15 August that Newcastle scouts have been watching Porto’s Samu Omorodion as they continue to assess a number of options.
The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has explained that the Magpies are working from a long list of targets, with Ramos the latest in their sights.
“He is keen to make that move to Newcastle,” he told Football Insider.
“It’s always a dilemma in football, the better the team you’ve got at your disposal, the less likely it is for somebody to break into that team.
“He’s always on the outside looking in from the bench while the team is getting success.
“So from his point of view, the opportunity to go and play in the Premier League and Champions League with Newcastle will be inviting for him.

“They’re probably further down that list than they would have hoped to be, but that’s what the scouts are paid for, they’ll know all about him.
“They’ve been watching him for PSG and they’ll know what he can and can’t do, where he would fit into the team and whether he suits their style.
“So if it all adds up and they see him as an option, maybe they’ll make a move.
“A lot will depend on Isak though, whether he moves on, but I think either way they want to get a striker in and he might be the one.”
While incoming deals have been the priority at Newcastle in recent weeks, there has also been talk about potential departures, including Kieran Trippier.
Former England goalkeeper Paul Robinson told Football Insider on 17 August that Newcastle are likely to reject offers for Trippier despite interest from Monaco.

Ahead of their return to Champions League football, the Magpies are keen to keep a strong squad, and feel replacing the right-back could prove difficult.
However, Robinson told Football Insider on 18 August that Trippier could leave Newcastle for free next summer when his contract expires.
