Rangers are planning to reignite their interest in Crystal Palace star Jesurun Rak-Sakyi in the January transfer window after missing out on deadline day.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that Russell Martin remains determined to land the 22-year-old.
As a result, plans are already being put in place to lure him away from Selhurst Park, where he is not expected to play a significant role under Oliver Glasner.
This comes after Brown told Football Insider in July that Rangers want to sign Rak-Sakyi, with Palace planning to accept permanent offers for his signature.
Martin is known to be a huge fan of the winger, having tried to sign him at Swansea and Southampton, but they are not the only club to hold a long-term interest.
Football Insider exclusively revealed on 1 September that Sheffield United explored a move to re-sign Rak-Sakyi following his loan spell at Bramall Lane last season.
Football Insider revealed in July that Palace were considering letting Rak-Sakyi leave on loan after offers from both Rangers and Southampton during the window.

Brown, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, explained that Rangers will now be forced to wait until January but have not dropped their interest.
“Rangers will revisit their interest in Rak-Sakyi in January,” he told Football Insider.
“He’s somebody who has been on their radar for a while because the manager wants him.
“They haven’t strengthened as much as they would like to have done in his position.
“So it makes sense that they revisit the deal in January to finally get it sorted.
“They won’t be his only suitors because I heard Sheffield United were making a late move for him as well, but he’s ended up staying at Palace.
“It was a surprise to me, because he’s not part of the first-team plans there.
“Oliver Glasner doesn’t seem to rate him, and for whatever reason that may be, it means he will most likely still be available come January.
“The only issue at that stage will be whether he’s played often enough to stay fit.”
Alongside their efforts to improve their squad during the transfer window, decisions are also having to be made about Martin’s future at Ibrox.
Football Insider revealed on 1 September that Rangers aren’t considering sacking Martin immediately in the wake of their 0-0 draw in the Old Firm derby against Celtic.

Four draws from their opening four league games have proved frustrating, but a better display against Celtic has shown clear signs of improvements from the boss.
Football Insider revealed on 26 August that Martin would not be sacked by Rangers regardless of the outcome of the Old Firm derby and despite criticism from fans.
