Jamie Vardy is open to a move to the Scottish Premiership this summer amid interest from Celtic as he continues to weigh up his options.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that the 38-year-old is set to take his time before committing his future.
The former Leicester striker is considering offers from a number of sides across Europe but is aware his best shot at success may be a gamble on a move to Parkhead.
However, despite reports elsewhere, Football Insider revealed on 22 August that Celtic’s interest in Vardy is not yet advanced although they remain keen on attacking reinforcements.
This comes after Football Insider exclusively revealed on 7 July that Rangers have opened preliminary talks with Vardy and are accelerating their pursuit of the striker.
However, Russell Martin’s side opted to look elsewhere to strengthen up front, potentially opening the door for their rivals to beat them to the move.

Brown told Football Insider in July that Rangers were pushing to sign Vardy, who would be well-suited to a move to the Scottish Premiership.

The former scout, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, insisted Celtic have now emerged as firm contenders for his signature, but no decision is close.
“Jamie Vardy would be a good fit for Celtic,” he told Football Insider.
“The way he plays would suit Scottish football, especially in the dominant team in the league, where he’s going to get plenty of chances presented to him.
“That can be the difference between comfortable wins and tight games, taking those chances.
“So it doesn’t surprise me to hear Celtic are having a look at him.
“He has that knack of being in the right place at the right time, that doesn’t disappear with age.
“That’s why there’s been so much interest in him, because we spoke before about Rangers maybe having a look at him as well.

“It looks like they’re not exploring that one any more, so maybe Celtic can move in.
“There will be offers for him from all over the place, but a move to Celtic would allow him to win silverware while still slowing down a bit.
“I think he’ll take his time because he doesn’t have to make a decision during the transfer window.
“Clubs might wait until the deadline and then have a look at him if they can’t bring in somebody else, so he won’t want to commit to anything too early.
“But if Celtic make a move, I think it’s a deal that would suit both parties.”
While the Hoops continue to make progress towards strengthening their squad, speculation about Brendan Rodgers’ long-term future has emerged once again.
Brown told Football Insider on 25 August that Rodgers could quit Celtic in favour of a move to the Premier League after growing frustrated at Parkhead.

This comes as Rodgers has been linked with the potential vacancy at Nottingham Forest, with speculation rife about Nuno Espirito Santo‘s future.
Football Insider first revealed in April that Rodgers could quit Celtic amid Premier League interest and despite being content to stay at Parkhead, has been left frustrated.
