Everton are planning to hold talks with Man City over the future of Jack Grealish as plans are already being put in place to make his loan permanent.
That is according to former Man United and Blackburn chief scout Mick Brown, who remains very well-connected within the game, as he exclusively told Football Insider that David Moyes‘ side want to negotiate a cut-price fee for the winger.
Man City and Everton agreed to insert a £50million option to buy in his loan deal, but it is currently considered unlikely for the Toffees to complete a deal at that price.
This comes as Football Insider revealed on 26 August that Grealish will have to take a pay cut to join Everton permanently and is now prepared to do so.
After enjoying a fast start to his career at the Hill Dickinson Stadium, Football Insider revealed Everton are already planning to land Grealish on a long-term deal.

Football Insider revealed on 30 August that Man City are preparing to sell Grealish permanently following his loan spell, with clubs across Europe tracking his situation.
Brown, who has a wealth of experience in top-level player recruitment after over a decade at Man United during their most successful period, has insisted the Toffees are planning to negotiate new terms for a more favourable deal.

“Everton are looking at a cut-price deal for Grealish,” he told Football Insider.
“It’s something they’re planning to talk to Man City about, because the fee in his contract at the moment is probably going to be in excess of what they’re willing to pay.
“Given how well he’s done at the start of the season, Everton are already wanting him to join permanently because now they’ve seen what he can do.

“Looking at the market, where are they going to get a player who can improve their side as much as he has if they can’t get him to stay?
I don’t think they can.
“So it’s important for them to get that one over the line and I expect City will be willing to negotiate that price because he’s not going to be in their plans.
“It’s a deal that, if they can agree it, will be the best outcome for everybody involved.”
Football Insider revealed last month that Moyes backs himself to reignite Grealish’s career and recreate the “showman” he saw at Aston Villa.
Since his arrival at Everton the England international has picked up four assists in four Premier League games, and Grealish was named Premier League Player of the Month.
As a result, he now has his eyes set on a return to Thomas Tuchel‘s squad ahead of the 2026 World Cup, despite having missed out on the most recent squad.

Tuchel is facing a difficult situation with Grealish given the competition for a place in the squad in his position with a number of top options vying for a spot.
The likes of Cole Palmer, Jude Bellingham, Phil Foden, Morgan Rodgers and Morgan Gibbs-White are vying for the attacking midfield role, leaving Grealish on the sidelines.
