The Football Association (FA) have said they are 'very concerned' after Bournemouth forward Antoine Semenyo was allegedly subjected to racist abuse against Liverpool.
Play was halted during the first-half of the Reds' 4-2 win over the Cherries following an alleged act of discrimination towards the 25-year-old winger.
Referee Anthony Taylor gathered both managers and captains of the two clubs to discuss the incident after Semenyo reported the incident to the official.
As a result, an announcement over the PA that 'Operation Anfield' was underway and footage emerged on social media showing police officers pitchside.
During the half-time interval, an anti-discrimination was read out to supporters at Anfield and the FA have now released a statement condemning the alleged abuse.
