Guinea and Senegal won their opening matches in Group B against Malawi and Zimbabwe respectively on Monday, with Mane scoring a stoppage-time winner for the latter, but Salah's Egypt fell to a 1-0 defeat to Nigeria in their opening match in Group D.

Spring training is set to begin for MLB teams in little over a month but the deadlock that came into effect between teams and players on December 2, where for the first time in 26 years a lockout was brought into effect owing to a row over between team owners and the MLB players' union (MLBPA) over the latest collective bargaining agreement (CBA), shows little signs of slowing up as yet.

In his position as a member of Major League Baseball's labour policy committee, the Fenway Sports Group supremo, who owns the storied Boston Red Sox baseball team, has been a major player at the table in determining what happens next with the MLB.
