Fabinho insists Liverpool star Mohamed Salah is 'happy' at Anfield and is not surprised to see his 'very demanding' team-mate linked to move away to Real Madrid or BarcelonaMo Salah previously refused to rule out a move to Barcelona or Real Madrid  Liverpool winger is in his fourth season with Reds and has been a revelation Despite whispers of exit, team-mate Fabinho insists Salah is happy at Anfield He said: 'I see him very happy here and pleased with his performances'

Mo Salah is 'very demanding of himself' but remains happy at Liverpool despite talk of a move to Barcelona or Real Madrid, claims Fabinho.

The Brazilian, who has slotted into central defence brilliantly this season for the Reds, spoke about his team-mate's refusal to rule out a move to one of the Spanish giants in an interview conducted with AS earlier in the season.

He believes it is no surprise that Salah is linked with a move elsewhere given his remarkable four seasons at Anfield.

Salah appeared open to a move to Real Madrid or Barcelona in an interview with AS

Fabinho told Sky Sports: 'Big players will always have their names involved in rumours.

'Salah plays for Liverpool, one of the biggest teams in the world. So I think it's normal to see his name linked to other teams, especially from different leagues.

'Anyway, I see him very happy here and pleased with his performances this season.

'He's very demanding with himself, he wants to be the best, he wants to help the team and works hard for it.'

Fabinho thinks top players are inevitably going to be linked with other big clubs

Salah has scored 111 goals for Jurgen Klopp's side since joining from Roma back in 2017. The Egyptian star has been a key part of the attacking triumvirate with Roberto Firmino and Sadio Mane that has helped Liverpool win the Premier League and Champions League.

Fabinho has not noticed a change in Salah's demenour despite the strange timing of the AS interview in which he said: 'I think Madrid and Barcelona are top clubs... We never know what is going to happen in the future.'

Fabinho added: 'It's always been the case and it hasn't changed at all. He keeps scoring goals, which everyone is used to seeing. In the changing room he's always talking to everyone and making jokes.

Salah has scored more than 100 goals since joining Liverpool from Roma four seasons ago

'I don't see anything affecting him. Overall, I am not following the news so I'm not sure about any rumours. As I said, top quality players will always be linked to big clubs.'

Salah is currently leading the golden boot race in the Premier League this season, notching 13 times in total.

But he'll hope to arrest Liverpool's recent slide with a win in their table-topping showdown against Manchester United on Sunday.
