Former Liverpool man Fabinho clinched his first trophy with Al Ittihad on Thursday evening, but he was not the only Liverpool presence in the Middle East this past week.

We exclusively revealed on Monday that the Liverpool players chose to travel to Dubai to give Trent Alexander-Arnold an official send-off ahead of his move to Real Madrid.

The trip was a collective decision by the players, who spent the week in Dubai before travelling back to Liverpool on Friday to prepare for the away trip to Brighton on Monday night.

Meanwhile, manager Arne Slot did not accompany the squad, instead celebrating separately in Ibiza.

While the Reds squad were celebrating both Trent Alexander-Arnold and the title clinch, Fabinho has etched his name in the annals of Saudi football history by helping Al-Ittihad win the Saudi Pro League.

Fabinho’s team secured the title with two matches to spare.

Al Ittihad came from behind to secure a 3-1 win over Al Raed on Thursday night to claim the trophy.

The victory, led by captain Karim Benzema, took Al Ittihad to 77 points from 32 matches, putting them nine points clear of second-placed Al Hilal.

This win was enough for Laurent Blanc’s Al Ittihad to clinch their 10th league title, and their first since 2023.

Fabinho took to social media to celebrate the win with a simple caption:

“Champions.”

He also spoke to the media, saying:

“This title is very important for me.

I came to Al Ittihad to win, to keep winning.

Thank God, it’s one more title in my career.

One more league, the Saudi league.”

Meanwhile, skipper Karim Benzema also celebrated the win, taking to X to write:

“Alhamdulillah, Champions!

Proud of this team and our fans,” the Frenchman wrote.

With the league title secured, Al-Ittihad now sets its sights on the King’s Cup final against Al Qadsiah later this month, aiming for a domestic double.

This achievement adds to Fabinho’s decorated career, which includes titles in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League during his tenure with Liverpool as well as Ligue 1 with Monaco (2016-17),
