Wolves outcast Fabio Silva is edging closer to a Molineux departure as German side RB Leipzig step up their efforts to sign him this summer.
Vitor Pereira has welcomed Silva back into the Wolves fold this summer after his impressive recent loan spell with La Liga side Las Palmas.
Silva was the Molineux outfit’s record signing when he joined for £35million [Express & Star] from Porto in 2020 at just 18-years-old, but he has struggled to ever live up to the lofty expectations set of him after his big-money move.
He has been loaned out to the likes of Anderlecht, PSV, Rangers and Las Palmas, but only succeeded at the latter with 10 goals and three assists in 24 games, and Silva particularly struggled at Ibrox as he was embroiled in a dressing-room bust-up following a controversial goal celebration.
Wolves are now looking to sell him on this summer, and after Borussia Dortmund recently saw a £17.3m bid to sign Silva rejected, it looks to be another German side that is advancing in a deal to sign him following new developments.
Silva has also been the subject of interest from Roma and Eintracht Frankfurt, but according to Sky Sports Germany reporter Philipp Hinze, via X, Leipzig have now reached a verbal agreement with the 23-year-old.
He states that Silva “would be ready” to join a Bundesliga club this summer, but the two clubs are apart in their valuations as it stands.

Wolves currently want between €25m and €30m (£21.5m and £25.8m) for the Portuguese youth international, which the German side are not willing to pay, and so they are both currently negotiating a suitable transfer fee.
Football Insider verdict
Silva is yet to play in any of Wolves’ pre-season friendlies, despite joining the squad for their recent training camp in his native Portugal, so an exit looks set to be sanctioned, but his future is uncertain as it stands with the Molineux outfit standing firm over their valuation of his services.
Wolves should be in a relatively relaxed place when it comes to Silva, given the number of interested clubs, but they are running a major risk by rejecting bids for his services following his lack of impact on their team over the last few years.

The 23-year-old has played just 10 competitive games for the club’s senior side over the last three seasons, and it is solely his decent form at Las Palmas which has thrust him onto the radars of some top European clubs.
According to a recent report from the Daily Mail, Silva’s market value has declined over time and is now around the £10m mark, so anything the club receive for him above that figure can be banked as profit against PSR.
For them to be haggling with Leipzig and Dortmund over a fee seems like a huge mistake waiting to happen, but if either side does offer a figure near what they feel is suitable, then they will surely have to accept and quickly move on as he just needs to get off their books as soon as possible.
