Since Isak’s Anfield switch has been the talk of the town for most of the summer, it’s not a surprise to see deadline day also get dominated by the deal.

Although all the reports are saying that Isak to Liverpool is a done deal, one thing that can’t seem to be agreed upon is the price that the Reds are paying.

“Alexander Isak arrives in Liverpool to sign a six year deal valid until June 2031,” he wrote.

“The deal will cost £125m to Liverpool as Newcastle will get £130m — including solidarity payment.

“Liverpool and Newcastle already started exchanging all the documents overnight.”

Although Liverpool have already welcomed players such as Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike through the Anfield doors, there’s no hiding from the fact that Isak is on another level.

The number nine was one of the best strikers in the world last season, and the fact that he’s already proven he has what it takes to score 20+ goals in the Premier League is exactly what Slot’s men need.

Of course, Mohamed Salah is still likely to be the star of the show once he gets into his groove, but the fact that the Anfield outfit have a threat like Isak to cover for Salah once his contract expires in 2027 shows how well-planned out this move was.
