There’s been plenty of noise surrounding Liverpool’s transfer activity this summer.
The Reds have splashed upwards of £250 million on reinforcements, headlined by the marquee arrival of Florian Wirtz in a record outlay, alongside notable captures such as Hugo Ekitike, Milos Kerkez, and Jeremie Frimpong.
Yet while the focus has largely been on the money going out, less attention has been given to Liverpool’s equally impressive efficiency in the market.
In fact, the club has managed to claw back roughly £182 million through high-profile exits that have reshaped Arne Slot’s squad.
Luis Diaz’s switch to Bayern Munich for £65.5 million leads the list of departures, followed by Darwin Núñez’s £46 million sale to Saudi Arabian side Al-Hilal

Jarell Quansah’s £35 million transfer to Bayer Leverkusen and the £15 million earned from Tyler Morton’s move to Lyon further helped the balance sheet, while academy graduate and backup keeper Caoimhín Kelleher’s £12.5 million sale to Brentford added another significant sum.
And it looks like another sale could be on the cards soon:
Taking to X, Fabrizio Romano reported that Kostas Tsimikas’ exit is expected to speed up before the window closes on September 1:
“Kostas Tsimikas exit, expected to accelerate as Liverpool could also open to potential initial loan proposals.”
“The left back is prepared to leave as Kerkez and Andy Robertson will be the LBs for Arne Slot.”
For Kostas Tsimikas, who has long served as backup to Andy Robertson, the arrival of another young full-back raises fresh questions over his role at Anfield.
Since joining Liverpool in August 2020, Tsimikas has rarely displaced Andy Robertson as first-choice left-back.
Even during Robertson’s occasional absences – due to minor injuries or rotation – the Greek international has found it difficult to nail down a regular starting berth.
Arne Slot has used him sparingly in the Premier League, with only 8 starts in his 17 league appearances this term.
The likes of Leeds United and Nottingham Forest showed interest in the Greek international earlier in the transfer window.
