Manchester United are currently prioritizing the signing of RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko but are facing competition from Newcastle United in the race for the €80 million-rated striker. According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, United have been offered Juventus striker Dusan Vlahovic as an alternative if they cannot secure Sesko, but their focus remains firmly on Sesko. Vlahovic, who has scored 110 Serie A goals, has been made available by Juventus amid doubts about his future with the club. However, Manchester United’s response so far has been to reject offers for Vlahovic, staying committed to pursuing Sesko as their primary target.
Newcastle have also tabled a significant bid for Sesko, reportedly €80 million plus add-ons, sparking a bidding war with Manchester United, who have put forward an offer of around €75 million plus €10 million in bonuses. RB Leipzig are pleased with the competitive situation, as it allows them to negotiate better terms. The main factor now is the player’s decision, as Sesko has yet to make a formal announcement indicating his preferred club. Manchester United hope Sesko is awaiting their offer given the protracted negotiations and competition from Newcastle.
Fabrizio Romano added that if Sesko ultimately chooses Newcastle, Manchester United will reconsider other striker options, with Vlahovic being the most prominent alternative. At present, though, the priority for United is clear; they are fully focused on securing Sesko and have turned down other opportunities to ensure success in this transfer saga.
