Luis Diaz to Bayern Munich is now considered a done deal.

Florian Plettenberg for Sky Germany confirmed earlier today that an agreement had been reached in principle for the Colombian to move to the Bundesliga champions in a deal worth £65.5m.

He will sign a contract until ‘at least’ 2029, and his medical is booked for next week.

It brings an end to a short but hugely successful spell with the Reds for Luis Diaz, who played a key role in getting Liverpool to the Champions League final during his first season, as well as finishing last season with a Premier League winners’ medal.

It has been a transformative window for Liverpool so far, with many changes happening.

Liverpool’s spending has smashed records this summer, as their current activity sits at £295.5m spent.

Whilst Liverpool’s additions have grabbed the headlines, it is now a sizeable departure that is in the spotlight.

Luis Diaz will be a big miss, and Liverpool will now have to find a way to replace a player who scored 30 goals across the last two seasons.

Fabrizio Romano has provided an update following the confirmation of Bayern’s agreement with Liverpool that could hint at Liverpool’s future transfer plan.

Via his Threads account, he posted: “Luis Diaz to Bayern, exciting move for the German club… and start of new domino.”

Alexander Isak has been causing a stir within the Newcastle camp recently, after openly admitting to wanting to leave the club this summer.

Luis Diaz’s sale could raise the funds required to help Liverpool agree a deal for Isak that would see him move clubs for a British record transfer fee.

It is important to note that Fabrizio Romano also mentioned Benjamin Sesko of RB Leipzig, after it was revealed that Newcastle are continuing to push to sign the striker.

If Newcastle secure the signing of Sesko, they may have to give in to Isak’s wishes and let him depart the club this summer and Liverpool will be eagerly awaiting the right time to pounce.

Deals could now begin to fall into place now that the uncertainty surrounding Luis Diaz’s Liverpool future has been cleared.
