There has been an understanding for a period of time that Elliott was deemed surplus to requirements by Arne Slot, as Liverpool have been busy in the transfer market.
Liverpool have made a number of signings, spending quite heavily to acquire these players, meaning they need to sell individuals to gather the funds, and Elliott has been one of Slot’s squad deemed an asset to do this.
Fabrizio Romano has also reported that a sale has been agreed between Liverpool and Al Hilal, with the initial deal expected to be worth around £46 million.
Similarly to Elliott, it has long been understood that Nunez could be leaving Anfield this summer.
However, this agreement to allow him to leave will likely have a direct impact on their pursuit of Alexander Isak, as they will help provide the funds required to sign the Swede from Newcastle.
Liverpool fans will now be waiting patiently for an update regarding their chase of Isak and whether the Reds can agree on a deal with Newcastle United.
