Fans claim Trent Alexander-Arnold is 'FLIRTING' with a move to Real Madrid as he names his three dream guests to have over for dinner... with TWO of his picks being former Bernabeu icons

Liverpool fans fear Trent Alexander-Arnold has launched a charm offensive towards Real Madrid after hearing him name his ideal dinner guests.

The LaLiga giants are reportedly keeping tabs on the sprightly full-back, 25, who has less than 15 months left on his contract at Anfield.

There have been no talks to extend his stay but he was appointed vice-captain in the summer and, understandably, the Reds have not indicated any intention to sell him.

But some fans are worried - something of an overreaction - after he revealed his three dream dinner guests to Gary Neville.

You could argue that this just shows a passion for football, but many Reds fans think he was hinting at a fondness for Los Blancos, who count Zidane and Ronaldo among their legends.

'Unfortunately I’m taking this as confirmation he’s going to Madrid,' one individual wrote on X, formerly Twitter.

'I think it's fair to say Trent would fancy a move to Madrid at some point,' another said.

'Stop it. Stop it. Don’t mention M*drid,' one begged in desperation.

'Flirting with Madrid starts,' another warned.

'He's going Madrid boys, it’s over,' the seeming fount of all knowledge announced.

'Ye he’s off Madrid,' another added.

When explaining his answer, Alexander-Arnold said: ''I'd love to pick his [Ronaldo's] brains. As you can tell, I like talking about it, I love footy. Can't stop!'

Taking his answers as some bona fide proof of his desire to join Madrid seems far-fetched.

After all, Gerrard and Ronaldo are based in Saudi Arabia, but nobody is seriously suggesting that his answers indicate he wants to go there.

However, Liverpool would be wise to try and secure his future before too long. When the summer hits, he will have just a year left on his deal, which he signed in 2021.

That risks a situation where he could run down his contract if he grew dissatisfied or yearned for change, and Liverpool would make nothing from his exit.
