Liverpool have seen two young stars emerge to cement themselves as part of the first team over pre-season.
The summer friendlies are always a good chance for youngsters to make an impression amongst the senior players, but that has been more difficult this year.
Without a summer international tournament on the calendar, Arne Slot had virtually a full Liverpool squad to work with right from day one.
That makes it even more impressive that both Rio Ngumoha and Trey Nyoni have managed to stand out during the pre-season matches.
Ngumoha has exploded onto the scene, while Nyoni looks set for greater involvement as well.
Both players are likely to become fixtures in the senior side and were seen training with the first team ahead of Sunday’s Community Shield.
But while focus is rightly on Ngumoha and Nyoni, footage from inside the Liverpool training ground showed that one more young player has been involved in the build-up to the clash with Crystal Palace.

Along with Ngumoha and Nyoni, the only other outfield player from the Liverpool academy to travel on tour with the Reds was Luca Stephenson.
Stephenson has played at both centre-back and right-back this summer, impressing in both despite a slight mistake leading to an Athletic goal on Monday.

Slot is known to be a big fan of Stephenson, and while other youngsters involved on Monday appear to have dropped back to the youth teams, the 21-year-old remains with the seniors.
Stephenson could be seen getting stuck in with the biggest names in the Liverpool squad in LFCTV’s latest ‘Inside Training’ video, as they prepare for a trip to Wembley this weekend.

There have been reports that Aberdeen want to sign Stephenson on a permanent basis, and there is perhaps an expectation that the former Sunderland prospect will leave.
But, for the time being, he is continuing to be given the chance to impress Slot and further his career at Liverpool.
Although there is clearly no official list of players who have been involved in training in the build-up to Sunday, you can judge plenty from the footage put out by Liverpool.
From that, we can garner that Darwin Nunez was not present as he prepares to complete a move to Al Hilal, while Conor Bradley and Joe Gomez remain missing through injury.
The rest of the Liverpool players look to be involved, with the likes of Federico Chiesa and Harvey Elliott present despite rumours of moves away.
And then there were Liverpool’s young contingent.
Despite players such as Jayden Danns, Lewis Koumas and Amara Nallo featuring to varying degrees on Monday, Ngumoha, Nyoni and Stephenson look to be the only three in contention to play the Community Shield.
For the former two, this is to be expected after a summer in which they really made their mark.
But for Stephenson, it is testament to his tenacity and ‘fantastic’ quality that he continues to stick around.
