Federico Chiesa is reportedly attracting serious interest from a Spanish club, who have already contacted his camp.
Chiesa’s future is set to be one of the major discussions in this summer transfer window after an underwhelming first season in England.
The Italian was Liverpool’s only addition in Arne Slot’s first season and came to the club with a lot of promise.
However, a lack of fitness and a series of injury setbacks limited his impact early in the season.
And by the time he was declared fully fit, it was somewhat already too late for him to stake a place in the starting XI, especially due to the form and fitness of Mohamed Salah.
As a result, Chiesa made just 12 appearances in total – merely four in the Premier League – and has to start a single league match under Slot’s management.
It would be far from a surprise if the Italian international departs Liverpool in the summer.
Several clubs have been touted as a possible destination for him this summer.
Serie A sides Napoli are thought to be keen, while there is also tentative interest from Turkey.
A new club has now been thrown into the mix, with a new report from Spain claiming that Real Betis are considering Chiesa.
According to Football Espana, Real Betis are mulling over signing the Italy international as an alternative for Manchester United winger Anthony.
Anthony enjoyed a productive loan spell at the Villamarin Stadium and Betis are willing to make his loan move permanent.
But the Spanish club are being hindered by Manchester United’s demands to sell the Brazilian.
The Red Devils reportedly want €40m to part with the player they spent €95m to buy from Ajax.
Betis cannot afford that amount and are asking for another loan.
Howeevr, as it stands United want an outright sale, causing Betis to look for alternatives elsewhere.
Accoridng to the report Chiesa is one of the players they are considering and they have already spoken with his agents over a possible move.
“Sources close to Football España have been informed that Liverpool winger Federico Chiesa is one of their preferred options if talks for Antony fail,” the report said.
“They have contacted Chiesa’s camp to enquire about his situation, and would consider another loan move for the Italian.
“However there is interest in Chiesa looking to try and repatriate Chiesa.
AC Milan are in talks over personal terms with Chiesa, and Napoli also have him on their shortlist?
From his point of view, Chiesa will prioritise a move that will provide him with game time to relaunch his career.”
