Liverpool forward Federico Chiesa may have fuelled speculation over his future after reacting to an update from Fabrizio Romano.
Arne Slot made just one permanent signing during his title-winning first season at Anfield, with Chiesa arriving from Juventus in a £10million deal.
The 27-year-old, however, endured a frustrating debut campaign, limited to only 14 appearances across all competitions and making just a single league start.
That lack of game time inevitably led to rumours circulating around his future, with Chiesa being linked with a potential Liverpool exit this summer.
But after coming off the bench to score an 87th-minute winner against Bournemouth in the opening fixture of Liverpool’s title defence, fresh reports began to emerge, with Chiesa’s own response adding further intrigue to the situation.

Fabrizio Romano revealed on Instagram that Chiesa has informed his agent of his decision to remain at Liverpool this season.
Romano added that the Italian “considered” leaving back in June after being left out of the club’s pre-season tour, but he has since changed his stance.
Chiesa now “wants to stay and fight for his place” following Luis Diaz’s move to Bayern Munich earlier this summer.

With changes already taking place at Anfield, especially across the forward line, opportunities have opened up.
Slot has already shown faith in Chiesa, handing him minutes in the opening fixture of the campaign.
He has so far made 15 appearances for the Reds, scoring three goals and registering two assists in all competitions.
Chiesa made an instant impact off the bench against Bournemouth, and time will tell if he can build momentum now that his future is settled.

Despite Chiesa’s decision to stay, the reigning title winners are still looking to strengthen their attack before the transfer window closes.
Football Insider revealed Liverpool are in talks to sign Rodrygo, with Real Madrid open to a potential sale if their asking price is met.
Liverpool have reportedly held discussions with Rodrygo’s agent over a possible deal, though they are expected to face strong competition from Manchester City, who are also in talks.
With just 10 days remaining in the window, it remains to be seen whether Liverpool will push ahead with a blockbuster move for the 24-year-old.
