Federico Chiesa has been linked with a transfer away from Liverpool this summer.

Unlike this time last year, Liverpool have been more active in the summer window.

The signing of Florian Wirtz and Hugo Ekitike will only increase competition in attacking areas.

It has led to Chiesa being linked with a move away from the club.

Now, Calciomercato reports that Chiesa would like to stay at Liverpool, but does not want to be in and out of the squad again and therefore could look for a move.

The report also says that Chiesa has held conversations with Italy manager Gennaro Gattuso in recent weeks with the player to be told that he needs to be playing regularly to be called up to the national side.

It adds that if he does move on this summer, Chiesa’s preference would be to move to a top Serie A club that also plays in Europe.

Napoli are the club named as the most active in a potential transfer for the Liverpool man, but they are currently concentrating on exits.

AC Milan, Inter and Roma are also named as possible destinations.

Liverpool are said to be willing to let Chiesa leave the club for ‘a modest fee’ and will consider a loan deal with an option to buy next summer.
