Federico Chiesa’s time at Liverpool looks set to be short and sweet — well, mostly short.

While Liverpool fans hoped he’d become a key figure on the wing, it seems the Premier League didn’t quite bring out the best in him.

Federico Chiesa made just six appearances in the league last season and featured 14 times overall.

And Italy could be calling again.

According to trusted journalist Fabrizio Romano, Napoli have made contact about Chiesa.

Romano shared on his YouTube channel:

“Federico Chiesa’s desire remains to leave Liverpool and play on regular basis next season, despite his excellent relationship with everyone at the club.

Priority remains Italy return for Chiesa as Napoli made contact to be informed.”\

Napoli, who recently brought in Kevin De Bruyne, are looking to add fresh firepower on the wings.

With Khvicha Kvaratskhelia leaving last summer, Chiesa could step right in — and maybe even bring his Azzurri flair to Naples.

Chiesa has also kept the door slightly open for a return to Juventus.
