Liverpool have been busy bees during the early days of the summer transfer window.
The Reds have already completed a deal to sign Jeremie Frimpong from Bayer Leverkusen and have looked unlikely to stop there.
Supporters have been waiting anxiously over the past two weeks to hear news of how a record-breaking transfer for Florian Wirtz has been progressing.
With Liverpool needing to spend more than they ever have on a player in order to get Wirtz, the deal is started to drag a little.
Elsewhere, Liverpool are trying to finalise Milos Kerkez’s arrival from Bournemouth.
However, with the two teams a little way apart on their valuations, there is still work to be done there, too.
But while those two negotiations continue apace, Liverpool have surprised fans by standing on the verge of sealing another transfer, completely out of the blue.

With Dominik Szoboszlai already in situ and Kerkez ready to arrive, there is set to be a significantly Hungarian flavour about Liverpool next season.
And, as unexpectedly revealed by journalist Fabrizio Romano on Friday afternoon, the Reds are likely to have a third Hungarian at the club in 2025/26.

Taking to X, Romano reported that Liverpool stand on the verge of bringing in 20-year-old goalkeeper Armin Pecsi.
“Liverpool set to agree deal to sign 20 year old goalkeeper Armin Pecsi from Puskas Akademia,” the transfer expert exclusively reported.

“Record sale for the Hungarian club as Pecsi said yes to Liverpool project, final details club to club and all done on player side.
“Here we go, soon.”
This was not the transfer Liverpool fans expected Romano to be confirming on Friday, with hope that either Wirtz or Kerkez would get nearer to the line.
But while supporters may have to wait a little longer for either of their top targets to arrive, Pecsi’s signing is certainly intriguing.
The youngster is a full senior player with the Puskas Academy, and has already amassed more than 50 appearances for them.
Pesci is also a Hungarian U21 international having also featured at U17 and U19 level.
With Caoimhin Kelleher having been sold and Giorgi Mamardasvhili set to replace him, it is possible that Pesci will arrive as a third choice goalkeeper.
