Rangers played out a 1-1 draw at St Mirren on Sunday as they failed to find their first league win of the season.
The hosts took the lead on 24 August thanks to Jonah Ayunga’s goal, after the striker was left unmarked by both John Souttar and Emmanuel Fernandez.
Russell Martin‘s men were desperate to bounce back from their 3-1 defeat to Club Brugge in a Champions League qualifier on Tuesday, 19 August.
However, the Ibrox side had to settle for a 1-1 draw at St Mirren, despite enjoying some late pressure after Findlay Curtis’ equaliser.
Martin is now tasked with overturning Rangers’ deficit to Club Brugge in their second leg clash on Wednesday, 27 August.

Jack Butland – 6
The Rangers goalkeeper was less at fault for St Mirren’s first-half goal than defensive duo Fernandez and John Souttar, but did not cover himself in glory.
Made an excellent save to deny Alex Gogic late on.
Max Aarons – 5
Max Aarons received a booking and failed to show his class at The SMISA Stadium.

Emmanuel Fernandez – 5
The summer signing from Peterborough United failed to pick up Ayunga’s run in behind in the first half, which proved costly as the Light Blues conceded.
John Souttar – 4
Like Fernandez, Souttar did not mark Ayunga, and was beaten far too easily by the striker’s touch, which took the ball away from the defender, allowing him to score.
Jayden Meghoma – 6
Even though he was subbed off at half time, Jayden Meghoma put on a better show than the other members of the Rangers backline, providing Lyall Cameron with a good opportunity to score via a cross.
Joe Rothwell – 5
The central midfielder failed to display the sort of creativity he has managed to show in the early days of his Gers career.
Nico Raskin – 7
A characteristically solid performance from the Belgium international, who went on to assist Findlay Curtis’ goal.
Oliver Antman – 5
The winger failed to provide attacking threat before being replaced by Mikey Moore at half time.
Lyall Cameron – 6
The attacking midfielder showed plenty of endeavour, but failed to score when he had a golden opportunity from Meghoma’s cross.
His defensive work in the dying embers of the game was impressive.
Djeidi Gassama – 6
Djeidi Gassama proved tough for Jayden Richardson to deal with, but couldn’t show the goal-scoring form he has displayed in Europe.
Thelo Aasgaard – 6
Thelo Aasgaard fulfilled the unfamiliar role of centre-forward on his Scottish Premiership debut for the Light Blues before seamlessly switching to the left wing in the second half.
He was unlucky to see his close-range shot saved spectacularly by Shamal George, but could have threatened more frequently.

Danilo (for Antman, 46) – 6
The striker did not cause too many problems for the St Mirren defence to deal with until his close-range header was well saved by George.
Mikey Moore (for Meghoma, 46) – 5
Mikey Moore was unable to get himself heavily involved in Rangers’ second-half attacking efforts.
Mohamed Diomande (for Aasgaard, 65) – 5
Mohamed Diomande largely took on from where Aasgaard left off, showing plenty of endeavour but failing to provide quality in crucial moments.
James Tavernier (for Aarons, 69) – 7
Rangers’ performances took a turn for the better after James Tavernier’s introduction, which was far from coincidental.
